Dental Care

Our Dental Procedures are tailored specifically to each individual animal, which is why having a dental exam performed annually is very important. Dental disease affects 85% of pets over the age of 4-5 years and they may require a dental scaling and polishing on a regular basis. If periodontal disease is not treated, bacteria can continue to produce and eventually lead to tooth loss or internal medical problems such as hear, lung, kidney and liver disease. Signs of dental disease can include tarter build up, bad breath, bleeding gums, decreased appetite, pain when eating, pawing at mouth, excessive salivation, tooth loss and subdued behavior. In some cases, pets may not show any signs of serious periodontal disease.

During the dental exam our veterinarians will assess your pet’s oral health and make recommendations based on these findings. The type of dental care pets require can vary according to breed, age, and general dental maintenance.
