PREVENTIVE WELLNESS CARE & VACCINATION PLANS
Our goal is to prevent illness whenever possible. We tailor all our
preventative care and vaccination protocols to best suit the needs for individual
your pet based on your pet's lifestyle and risk level. Preventive care for
your pet includes: Comprehensive physical examinations, internal parasite testing
and control, flea control programs, vaccination schedules, spay and neuter
procedures, and specialized blood profiles for all life stages. |

 |
SPAY & NEUTER
Our veterinarians routinely perform spay and neuter surgeries
on dogs, cats and rabbits. Spay and neuter are generally day surgeries
with the pet able to go home the same day. All spays and neuters are performed
under general anesthesia, using the safest protocols available and are
monitored accordingly. Home care instructions are provided to ensure your
pet has a comfortable recovery.
INTERNAL MEDICINE
Our veterinarians cover all areas of internal medicine including:
Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology,
Oncology and some Orthopedic Surgery.
SPECIALIST REFERRAL
Occasionally certain conditions arise that require a specialist's
opinion or treatment. We are able to consult with a number of board certified
specialists including: internists, surgeons, neurologists, ophthalmologists
and critical care specialists. We are able to schedule referrals and consultations
through a network of specialists located in the Lower Mainland.

SURGERY
Our skilled veterinarians perform surgeries on site that include but
are not limited to soft tissue surgery, orthopedic procedures, dental and emergency
surgeries. All surgical patients are examined by the veterinarian and anesthetics
are tailored to meet your pet's needs. The anesthetic we use is the safest
available and is also the same anesthetic used in human hospitals for pediatric
patients. All pets are always monitored by modern equipment including blood
pressure, heart rate and temperature in addition to being physically monitored
by a Registered Animal Health Technologist.

SURGICAL MONITORING
Our hospital uses state of the art equipment for monitoring our surgical
patients during general anesthesia. Surgical monitoring always includes: Blood
Pressure, Heart Rate, Arterial Pulse/Quality, Temperature and Respirations
in addition to the physical monitoring performed by a Registered Animal Health
Technologist. All patients are intubated during surgical procedures to allow
access to an open airway at all times. |
|
 |
PAIN MANAGEMENT
Companion animals experience pain and discomfort the same as people
do. Recognizing and alleviating pain is part of practicing good veterinary
medicine. There are many forms of pain management and our goal is to ensure
that your pet is as comfortable as possible while with us in the hospital and
when recovering at home.
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE
Sometimes illness doesn't always have a physical cause. Behavioral
related problems can be frustrating for most pet owners and we are able to
provide advice and determine the causes for unwanted behaviors such as separation
anxiety and inappropriate urination. We are then able to develop a treatment
regime to help control the behavioral problem. |

 |
MICROCHIP & TATTOO IDENTIFICATION
Permanent identification helps to reunite lost pets with their families.
Collars and name tags can be lost or easily removed where permanent identification
remains on your pet. Microchips are simply implanted with the use of a specially
designed needle and are traceable internationally. Tattoos are placed into
the pet's ear and are an effective way to ensure that your pet will be returned
to you if he or she is found. |

PROFESSIONAL DENTAL CARE
Regular professional dental care is as important in maintaining
your pet's teeth as it is your own! We provide dental consultations and care
specifically for your pet. Our veterinarians and our Registered Animal Health
Technologist have attended many specialized courses to keep up to date with
the latest technologies in dental health care. Regular professional cleaning
of your pet's teeth is very important in maintaining your pet's health as
oral bacteria and infections can cause serious health problems within the
body. Our dental cleanings are done with modern equipment using ultrasonic
scaling of all tooth surfaces above and below the gum line, complete dental
polishing and special oral rinses. Advanced dental care is also available
including: including extractions, dental abscess
repair and dental x-rays.

RADIOLOGY
Modern technology allows our veterinarians to evaluate and diagnose
medical conditions by taking radiographs (x-rays). Radiographs are helpful
in giving insight as to what may be ailing your pet or causing discomfort.
We have a state of the art x-ray machine with on-site developing so results
can be available, reviewed and discussed with the pet owner as quickly as possible.
We also have a dental x-ray unit which allows us to properly evaluate dental
concerns and make appropriate recommendations regarding dental care. |
|
 |
IN HOUSE PHARMACY
We stock a wide variety of the best veterinary drugs in the animal
health field. Most medications are available in oral liquids or tablets for
easy administration. Medications can be dispensed directly from the hospital
so your pet will benefit from immediate treatment. |
|
 |
RABBITS
The veterinarians at our hospital are very familiar with handling and treating rabbits. With better owner education regarding health care, nutritional requirements and good habitat management these smaller species have an increased chance at living longer, healthier and better quality of lives. |
|
 |
CRITICAL CARE & EMERGENCY
Our hospital is facilitated with a special ward for critically ill
and injured pets. Our critical care ward is fully equipped with oxygen lines
and a separate ventilation system. Emergencies don't always happen at night,
we are prepared to handle emergencies during our regular business hours. Our
experienced staff is fully trained in emergency procedures where every second
counts. We have a working relationship with the doctors and staff at the Animal
Emergency Clinic in Langley on a referral basis for after hours emergencies.
HOUSE CALLS
In special circumstances our veterinarians are able to visit you and
your pet in your home if you are unable to bring your pet into the hospital.
House calls are usually arranged at a convenient time for the hospital as the
veterinarian will have to leave the premises in order to visit your home.
